Ripple, St Mary
The Ripple parish church of St Mary is located at the eastern end of Station Road at the edge of the village. There is a parking area at the entrance to the churchyard.
A wooden staircase leads up to a roomy ringing room with white painted walls and benches for anyone not ringing one of the six bells. The clock mechanism does consume space. The treble is unusual in that it weighs more than bells #2, #3 and #4!

My first visit was on Thursday 16th January 2014 as the third tower
[1st,
2nd,
4th]
of the 291st Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #5 followed immediately by a touch of Plain Bob Minor. I also rang bell #4 for a touch of Stedman Doubles. I rang bell #2 which is rung from under a ladder with a rope guide on the side and ended by ringing down bell #3. The unusually heavy treble added an additional challenge to those who rang it, otherwise the bells seemed to be quite nice to ring.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 12-0-0 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary.
The Worcestershire & Districts Change Ringing Association have additional information on St Mary, Ripple.
