Swerford, St Mary
The Church of St Mary, Swerford is in the western part of this small Cotswold village close to St Mary's Lane where I parked.
The small church is set in an attractive churchyard. The 13thC tower is the oldest part of the church and forms the south-west corner of the church. Ringing takes place on the ground floor and there isn't really space for anyone in addition to the six ringers.

My first visit was on Thursday 17th February 2011 as the fourth and last tower
[1st,

of the 256th Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild. I only rang the once and that was bell #3 for a touch of Plain Bob Minor.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 6-2-6 in B♭. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary and more information is provided by the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
