Eldersfield, St John the Baptist
The Eldersfield Church, St John the Baptist [1, 2] is situated in the middle of this small, scattered village at the southern edge of Worcestershire. At the West side of the churchyard there is a small car park.
Ringing is from the ground floor and there is plenty of space in this large tower to ring the 6 heavy bells.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 18th March 2010 for the "Two Hundred and Fourtyfifth Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I rang up bell #4 and later rang a touch of Grandsire Doubles on bell #2. The bells were a pleasure to ring.

The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 18-1-0 in E. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St John the Baptist and additional information is provided by the Worcestershire & Districts Change Ringing Association. The bells were refurbished in 2009.
No information on the bells history or inscriptions was to be found in the tower but our host kindly sent me information on the inscriptions.
