Wellesbourne, St Peter
The Wellesbourne Parish Church of St Peter is situated at the end of Church Street in the old part of what is now a large village. There is room to park near the Church in Church Street, but not a lot. Wellesbourne has more than one Church though St Peter is the only one with bells.
Ringing is from the ground floor. It is a very nice room with a large arched stained glass window facing out to the West and another glassed arch looking in towards the nave. The sound of the bells was surprisingly quiet in the ringing room.
Important to those arranging tours, it has toilets.

My second visit was on Saturday 15th December 2012 with the Four Shires Guild.
While I managed to ring a lot more than my first visit it was not a very successful evening. I started with a touch on Stedman Triples on bell #5 which fell apart the first time because of my mistakes and then again because of others. This was followed by some poor ringing of Cambridge which was brought to an end by the rope of bell #7 breaking. After 15 minutes replacing the rope we were off again but things did not really improve. I rang Stedman Triples again, this time on bell #3, which was also a disaster. I figured it was safer for me not to try anything that involved thinking and rang the Tenor for Grandsire Triples, even this proved too much, from the back I could see all kinds of wierdness going on, seems lots of people were just having a bad night! Ringing down went well though, about the only thing all night! Perhaps it was anticipation of Christmas Party that was to follow this practice.

I returned on Saturday 3rd October 2015 as the fourth tower [1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th] of the Inkberrow ringers outing.
I started by ringing up what I thought was #6 but turned out to be #7. We had a fair bit of difficulty raising the bells in peal and only after we had finished and discussed the problem did we come to the realisation that what we had considered to be the Tenor was in fact the Treble! Things improved after this and we rang lots of Rounds & Call Changes and a touch of Grandsire Doubles. I lost track of what I rang the various bells for but rang the treble, #4, #7 and the (actual) tenor.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 10-0-24 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter.
