Rowington, Saint Lawrence

The parish Church of Saint Lawrence, Rowington is East of the B4439 on a bend at the Southern edge of the village. There is parking opposite the entrance to the churchyard but it is tucked away on the other side of the B4439 and hidden on the bend paryicularly if you are approaching from the West. There is a large churchyard bounded on the South side by the B4439 which falls away with the hillside and has nice views to the North and East.

Ringing takes place from the ground floor and the tower is in the middle of the Church between the nave and the chancel.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 18th February 2010 for the "Two Hundred and Fourtyfourth Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I rang up bell #5 and rang a touch of Plain Bob Minor on bell #3, nothing odd about either of them.

The Bells

The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 13-3-0 in F. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Lawrence and more information is provided by the Coventry Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers.
