Aston Cantlow, St John the Baptist
The Aston Cantlow Parish Church of St John the Baptist is situated on the south side of Church Lane in the east of the village. The church is set in an attractive church yard close to the River Alne and the The Kings Head. As a patron of the pub I parked in their car park.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a wrought iron spiral staircase inside the tower. The ringing room is quite spacious, though some of the bells are a bit awkwardly placed, and it does have seating for several in addition to those ringing.

I visited for the first time on Wednesday 5th September 2012 to join their weekly practice.
There were about a dozen of us there, two of which I already knew from from Bidford. During the evening I rang bells #3 to the Tenor. We rang Rounds and Call Changes for their beginners and then lots of Plain Bob Doubles and Grandsire Doubles.
An enjoyable evening's ringing after which they adjourned to the nearby Kings Head.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 14-0-14 in F. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St John the Baptist.
