Abbots Bromley, St Nicholas
The Church of St Nicholas is on the middle of the sizable village of Abbots Bromley and can be reached from both Church Street and High Street. There is on street parking on High Street.
On display in the church are the horns (reindeer antlers) that are used in the annual Abbots Bromley Horn Dance.
Inside the tower is a door that opens on to a 15 step spiral staircase (anti-clockwise). The ringing room is spacious with plenty of seating for those not ringing the 8 bells. There are two large circular windows on the north and south faces of the tower that provide natural light.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 16th June 2011 as the second tower

of the 260th Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #6. Later I rang a touch of Stedman Triples on #3 which, for me, went well in the sense that I didn't lose my way and got to the end successfully. I finished by ringing down bell #6. Nice bells, an enjoyable experience.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 11-1-5 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Nicholas and some additional information is provided by Lichfield & Walsall Archdeaconries Society of Change Ringers.
