Lower Heyford, St Mary
The parish Church of St Mary, Lower Heyford is at the end of Church Lane in the northern part of this Cotswold village beside the River Cherwell. There is a little roadside parking near the church area and a parking area near The Bell Inn.
The ringing room has quite a bit of space and is reached by climbing a ladder.

My first visit was on Thursday 16th May 2012 as the third tower

of the 271st Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #5 and followed with a touch of Plain Bob Minor on bell #3 (was a little flighty).
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 6-3-20 in Bb. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary and more information is provided by the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
