Ross-on-Wye, St Mary the Virgin

The Ross-on-Wye Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is located on the west side of this small market town overlooking the River Wye.

The church is set in a large attractive churchyard with views to the west over the River Wye. The ringing room is reached by climbing a 35 step spiral staircase. The steps are wooden but appear to be covers for stone steps. The entrance to the staircase is from outside the tower on the south face. The room is light and airy with windows on three sides and plenty of room for people not ringing.
