Bridstow, St Bridget
The Bridstow Parish Church of St Bridget is in an isolated spot about a quarter of a mile north of the A49. The is a little roadside parking but there is also a field which was open on the day I visited for parking.
The ringing room is on the ground floor.

My first visit on Saturday 30th April 2011 for a practical session during the Hereford Ringing Course. I was here to ring eight bells. I rang a couple of touches of Stedman Doubles both of which failed after a couple of bobs. I rang inside and as cover for Plain Bob Triples which went fine. The front two bells were very light and flighty and bell #2 has gone up "wrong" and had to be fixed.
I am not a morning person at the best of times but today was not a good one. Although the failures at Stedman were, according to my tutor and guide, not my fault I was still frustrated with my lack of progress.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 8-3-19 in A♭. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Bridget with more information provided by the Hereford Diocesan Guild of bellringers.
While there was a framed copy of the inscriptions it was a little hard to read. I have done my best to interpret them.
