Hereford, All Saints
The Hereford Parish Church of All Saints is located on the middle of this small city between the High Street and Bewell Street. The tall spire is distinctive but beware, there is also nearby St Peter's that also has a spire.
This is a city centre church so no churchyard. The church is the home of Café @ All Saints
which is a contemporary development which really appealed.
The large ringing room is reached by climbing the 51 steps of the stone spiral staircase. The start of the stair is inside the tower, near the cafe.

My first visit on Friday 29th April 2011 for a practical session during the Hereford Ringing Course. We'd skipped tea at the college to walk down and arrive early enough for a coffee but it had closed early! No trade because of the Royal Wedding! Food looked really good, what a shame.
I started with a plain course of Stedman Triples which went ok and I could clearly see the bells I was ringing over while dodging 6-7. This was followed by a touch of Bob Major on bell #4 which went ok with some hints from a minder. Next was Treble Bob hunt on bell #5 which went well once I stopped trying to double dodge at the back -- Stedman was still still stuck in my head! I ended up with a touch of Stedman that went reasonably well with a few hints from my minder.

My second visit on Saturday 22nd September 2012 was as the second tower of the WDCRA Southern Branch 2012 Tour.
18 months after my first visit learning Stedman Triples during the Hereford Ringing Course I felt duty bound to ring Stedman Triples. I rang bell #4 and it went very well, after successfully dealing with countless bobs I finally lost track of which way I was going in, however, I was in luck we finished before I got to the front! Later I rang bell #5 for some Rounds and Call Changes. They were as nice to ring as I remembered.
