Charlton Kings, St Mary
St Mary Church and its enclosing churchyard is bounded by the eponymous Church Street, New Street and Horsefair Street. There is small car park nearby, I managed to park roadside.
Access to the ringing room is via a door in the outside of the tower and then climbing a 32 step clockwise stone spiral staircase.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 7th September 2019 as the 2nd tower [1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th] of the WDCRA Southern Branch 2019 Tour.
I started by ringing the tenor for some Rounds & Call Changes and then the same again but on bell#7. I finished by ringing bell #5 for a touch of Grandsire Triples.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 17-0-13 in E♭. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary and more information is provided by the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
