Worcester, St Swithun
The Worcester Church, St Swithun is situated in the middle of the city at the north end of The Shambles. at the end of Church Street. If you need to park there are several car parks nearby.
This Georgian church, with its original Tudor tower, is now in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. It is quite unusual inside and has a very imposing multi-tier pulpit.
The ringing room is reached by climbing the 26 steps of a spiral staircase starting inside the tower. The ringing room is large with plenty of room to ring the 6 bells. There is a nice view west towrds the High Street through a large window. While the bells are not particularly heavy they seem heavier than they are and the back bells need work to keep them up. That said, they were nice to ring and sound good too.

I visited for the first time on Friday 24th February 2012 with the Evesham Ringers and Friends
. There were nine of us so we managed quite a bit of ringing. I started by ringing up bell #2. I rang bell #4 for a touch of Gransire Doubles and also for a touch of Stedman Doubles. I rang bell #5 for a touch of Plain Bob Minor and ended by ringing down bell #3.
