Cherington, St John the Baptist
The Cherington Parish Church of St John the Baptist is in the Northeast of this village. There is limited road side parking nearby.
I visited for the first time on Saturday 13th September 2008 to join the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers for their practice session. The ringing room is on the ground floor and provides plenty of room to ring the 6 bells. This is a light set of bells but I found them easy enough to ring. I rang a Touch of Plain Bob Doubles on bell #3 as well as a couple of Plain Courses. I rang Dedworth for the first time on the Tenor.
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 5-3-22 in B. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St John the Baptist.
The Coventry Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers also have information on the Cherington Parish Church of St John the Baptist.
