Butlers Marston, St Peter & St Paul

The parish Church of St Peter & St Paul is Southeast of the main body of the small village of Butlers Marston and is reached by following a narrow, single track, lane whose start point is well marked on the East of the village on the road running to/from Kineton. There is room for at least half a dozen car to be parked at the end of the lane at the entrance to the churchyard. The churchyard is beautifully maintained and I was not surprised to see that it was awarded "Best Kept Churchyard" by Coventry Diocese in 2007, they haven't let their standards fall.

The ringing room is on the ground floor and is accessed from the nave but is closed off and accessed through a door.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 15th July 2010 for the "Two Hundred and Fourtyninth Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I rang up bell #2 and then rang a touch of Grandsire Doubles and ended by ringing down bell #4. Both bells that I rang went nicely.

The Bells

The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 14-0-20 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter & St Paul and more information is provided by the Coventry Diocesan Guild.
