Fulbrook, St James the Great
St James the Great, Fulbrook is in the North of the village at the end of Church Lane. Church Lane starts on the North side of the A361 that runs through the middle of this small village. Parking is very limited.
This is a small Church with a very small ringing room that has no room for anyone but the 6 people ringing the bells. The ringing room is reached by climbing a short wooden staircase that starts inside the tower. For anyone arranging a tour, there is a toilet.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 16th July 2009 for the "Two Hundred and Thirtyseventh Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I was one of the first to arrive so managed to take one of the two parking spots beside the Church. I rang up bell #3 and then we rang a touch of Grandsire Doubles. I am still trying to learn Grandsire Doubles so was very pleased with a "faultless" execution.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 4-0-13 in C. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St James the Great and more information is provided by the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.

There is another bell, that is not part of the peal, which is known as a Sanctus bell which weighs a mere 0-2-0. It has an inscription:
