Asthall, St Nicholas
The parish Church of St Nicholas, Asthall is in middle of this small village just south of the River Windrush. There is some nearby roadside parking.
This is a small Church with a very small ringing room that has no room for anyone but the 6 people ringing the bells. The ringing room is reached by climbing a short wooden staircase that starts inside the tower. There is a window in the west face of the tower and a glass barrier on the oposite face looking over the nave.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 21st January 2010 for the "Two Hundred and Fourtythird Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I only rang bell #3 initially ring it up and later for a touch of Plain Bob Minor. They are a light set of bells but seemed to go ok.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 6-0-10 in A. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Nicholas and more information is provided by the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers including the inscriptions on the bells.
