Stoke Edith, St Mary the Virgin
The Stoke Edith Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is located beside the present Stoke Edith House. The house was the rectory before the manor burnt down. Stoke Edith is a small village and the church is just a few hunder yards south of the A438, the Ledbury <-> Hereford road. There is roadside parking just before you reach the church.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a short flight of stairs (wooden treads with no risers). The room is not very spacious but fairly light with whitewashed walls and a large arched window facing west. The ceiling is constructed of heavy oak beams.

My first visit on Saturday 22nd September 2012 was as the first tower of the WDCRA Southern Branch 2012 Tour.
I started by ringing the Tenor for some Rounds & Call Changes followed later by ringing the Treble for a touch of Cambridge Surprise.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 14-2-14 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary the Virgin with more information provided by the Hereford Diocesan Guild of bellringers.
