Winchcombe, St Peter
The Parish Church of St Peter is located on the north side of Gloucester Street (B4632), the main commercial street of this small Cotswold town. It is set in a large, well maintained churchyard and adjoins more open space with public access to Back Lane. I usually park on Back Lane and walk across the field to the church.
From the nnside of the tower it is only 14 steps up to the ringing room, a nice space with two large windows on opposite faces of the tower.

I visited for the first time on Wednesday 22nd August 2012 to join their weekly practice. I rang up bell #3, rang the tenor for Rounds & Call Changes and finished with bell #5 for a touch of Grandsire Triples.

The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 11-2-11 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter. There is some additional information provided by The Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
