Upper Slaughter, St Peter

The parish Church of St Peter, Upper Slaughter, is situated in the middle of this small village with a an entrance from the village square (triangle?). The church, like much of the village, is built of Cotswold stone. There is limited parking by the square.

Ringing is from the ground floor.

2010-04-10

I visited for the first time on Saturday 10th April 2010 as the third tower on the Harvington ringers annual tour.

I rang up bell #4, which seemed harder work than I expected, followed by Plain Hunt and Call Changes on some of the other bells and ended by ringing down bell #3.

The Bells

The tower has a ring of 5 bells with a tenor weighing 13-0-14 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter and more information is provided by the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
