The parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, Guiting Power, is situated in the South of the village at the end of Church Road. The church, like much of the village, is built of Cotswold stone. There is some parking at the end of Church Road at the entrance to the Churchyard.

The church is cruciform in shape with the tower in the West. Ringing is from the ground floor and the ropes surround the font.

2010-04-10

I visited for the first time on Saturday 10th April 2010 as the second tower on the Harvington ringers annual tour.

Our host informed us that they had just installed new ropes and that we would be the first people to ring on them. I rang up the Tenor and then rang all the others bells, with the exception of the Treble, for Plain Hunt and Call Changes. I suspect that we did not sound very good to the local community, the springiness of the new ropes presented some challenges.

The Bells

The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 6-2-25 in B. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Michael and All Angels and more information is provided by the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
