Cold Aston, St Andrew

The Cold Aston parish Church of St Andrew is in the North of the village next to the Primary School. There is room to park on the nearby road.

This is a nice little Church with Saxon origins. Ringing is from the ground floor with only enough space for those ringing.

2009-07-16

I visited for the first time on Thursday 16th July 2009 for the "Two Hundred and Thirtyseventh Mid-week Outing" of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I rang up bell #3 and then rang a touch of Grandsire Doubles, this did not go very well. There were a lot of us to ring and I decided that I'd call it a day since I seemed to have lost the plot. Although they were a light set of bells they seemed to ring easily and were not flighty.

The Bells

The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 5-3-16 in B. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Andrew and more information is provided by the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
