Uppingham, St Peter & St Paul
The parish Church of St Peter & St Paul, Uppingham is on the South side of the Market Square and is bordered on its West side by the London Road (A6003) which runs roughly North-South through the town. There is parking in the Market Square.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a short, 12 step, stone spiral staircase. The entrance to the staircase is inside the tower. The room is quite light with an open view over the nave on the East side and a window facing West.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 3rd July 2010 as the first church of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers tour. I rang up bell #4 followed by a couple of touches of Grandsire Doubles, the first with bells 7, 6 and 8 covering and the second time with bells 4, 6 and 8 covering. A little odd, but a good way to ring on eight bells for those, including me, not proficient in triples or major methods. All the bells that I rang went nicely.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 14-2-2 in E. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter & St Paul and more information is provided by the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers.
