Edith Weston, St Mary
The parish Church of St Mary, Edith Weston, is on the corner of Church Lane and King Edwards Way in the middle this village at the south-eastern shore of Rutland Water. There is limited parking nearby.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a short, steep ladder. The room is not very big but is light with an open view over the nave and a window opposite.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 3rd July 2010 as the second church of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers tour. Only six bells and lots of ringers so I only managed to ring a touch of Plain Bob Minor. There were new ropes by Peter Minchin and they were very springy which brought back memories of when we had new ropes at Harvington from Peter and it had taken several months for them to settle in.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 7-0-13 in A. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary and more information is provided by the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers.
