Oakham, All Saints
We had the best start to any tour that you could ask for: the weather! What a beautiful day! The tour was well attended and a good variety of methods rung. The day started off at Uppingham, which were a nice 8. Next was the village of Edith Weston. Lunch was at The Wheatsheaf in Oakham, and of course, thanks to the weather we all sat outside in the flower-filled courtyard and had a delicious lunch, enjoying views of the next tower, Oakham.
We then went on to Belton-in-Rutland, where refreshments had been laid on for us. We left there elated after a successful touch of Original was rung!! Flowers were also presented to the tour organiser and thanks given, which was a lovely gesture.
Both Richard and I would like to thank all the ringers that came to join us on the day, making the outing a great success.
